Purpose
A purpose statement sets forth the reason for
the church's existence. It communicates what the church hopes to
accomplish as a result of its ministries. The purpose of WPCC
is:
Loving God, Loving People
WPCC will love God by loving people with CARE.
We will connect with people to affirm God's love of them,
helping to release them from the bondage of sin and establish
them in the Body of Christ!
What We Believe
Inerrancy of Scripture
The Scriptures are God's revelation to mankind.
All scripture is God inspired, inerrant in the original
manuscript, and authoritative in faith and practice. (2nd
Timothy 3:16; Matthew 5:18; and 2nd Peter 1:21).
Godhead
The living eternal and true God is one who
exists in three (3) persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; and 2nd Corinthians 13:14).
Jesus Christ, Son of God
The Lord Jesus Christ is eternal God second
person of the Godhead and all things were created by Him,
through Him and for Him. We believe in His virgin birth,
real humanity, real Deity, substitutionary death, bodily
resurrection, and literal return to earth. (Colossians
1:16; John 1:1; Luke 1:34-35; Hebrews 10, Hebrews 1:6-9; 2nd
Corinthians 5:21; Mark 16:6; 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18; Acts
1:11).
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the
Godhead who convicts, regenerates, indwells, baptizes into the
body of Christ, and seals all believers. (John 16:8; John
3:6; 14:16; 1st Corinthians 12:13; John 14:26; Ephesians 1:13;
4:30; and Acts 1:8, Romans 8:9).
Sinful State of Mankind
Mankind was created in innocence and fell into
sin through disobedience which resulted in the need of salvation
for all mankind (Genesis 3:1-23; Romans 3:23; 5:12; 6:23; 7:18).
Salvation
The only remedy to mankind's sin has been
accomplished through the finished work of Christ, and must be
personally received, by grace, as a gift through faith.
Mankind is saved for good works that God prepared before hand.
(Acts 15:11, Romans 5:12; 6:23; 7:18; John 1:12; Ephesians
2:5-10; 2 Timothy 1:9).
The Church
The Church is the body of Christ comprised of
all those who have been "Born Again" by faith in Jesus Christ.
Its mission is to equip each born again believer within the
Church to make disciples and present the Gospel to all nations.
(Ephesians 5:23-32; Colossians 1:18; John 3:3; Matthew 28:19-20;
and 1st Corinthians 1:15-17).
We believe that the establishment and
continuance of the organized local church is clearly taught and
defined in the New Testament scriptures. (1 Timothy
3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11).
Resurrection
The believer will be bodily resurrected into
the eternal presence of God, while all unbelievers will endure
separation from God and conscious eternal torment with satan and
his demons. (1st Corinthians 15:51-55; Revelation
20:20:11-15; Romans 8:31-35; Luke 16:19-31; Revelation
20:10-15).
